Lychinus Vesi Outskirts Falling from grace was painful. It was ripping and tearing at his body and his soul. He could hear nothing but his own voice cracking as he screamed over and over again into the blinding white light of heaven falling away into the sky above. "Father! Father, no! Please!" His skin tore and shredded, flaking away into the air only to grow anew. His feathers scattered until only bone and membrane remained, only to regrow. Another pair sprouted beneath them, then began to break and bend. Torture, torment, agony. Everything was bending and twisting, and he couldn't understand why. Then suddenly, the ground seemed...different and so much closer than before. The sky...were the sun and moon closer now? "Oh nooooooo! Oof! Ugh! Mmph!" His form hit and bounced, sliding to a halt a few feet from where he'd fallen. Laying there face first, he groaned his own misery at nothing, slowly pushing himself over. Only then did he realize, his wings remained. Sitting up suddenly, he looked back, the feathered appendages raising and flaring outward...along with the second pair that had formed during his fall. He...still had some of his grace. Confusion swirled like a gathering storm in stark golden eyes as he climbed to his feet, swallowing hard as he turned his gaze up toward the sky. An arm rose to cover the blinding light of it. So close compared to the sun where he'd come from. And now...he couldn't hear the singing of his brothers and sisters. No...he was no longer home.

It was a relaxing, quiet afternoon in Eratyne...so much so that Camille saw fit to take a break for a few hours. The mercenary stabbed her lance into the soft earth beneath and plopped down onto her rear. Legs folded up to her chest as arms draped lazily over, taking in the smooth breeze and soft glow of the afternoon sun. Cami couldn't help but smile in that moment - it had been a long time since she was able to sit around and do nothing. Of course, good things aren't meant to last for -too- long.
The red-eyed woman squinted as she looked up to see what resembled a falling meteor. A slight panic set in as she stood up with a flourish and quickly retrieved her lance. Watching the comet carefully, she winced as the otherwordly object crashed into the ground not too far from where she stood - causing the ground to shake violently. Locking herself in a full sprint, she made her way to ground zero only to find a...winged man?
Camille tilted her head to the side as she stared on at the rather intriguing sight. It was only after what seemed like minutes that she finally decided to attempt to communicate, a slight wave given with one hand as a readied lance was brandished in the other. "You picked a bad day to fall from the sky, buddy."

Lychinus Vesi Outskirts His eyes remained on the sky for long moments, deep emotion shown in his expression. Home was far far away, further than even he had known was possible, and with it had gone his family and his duties. Purpose...did he even have one anymore? Lowering his arm, his closed his eyes and bathed in the sunlight for several more moments, his lips parted in silent murmurs. However, the sound of fast approaching footsteps caused a brow to raise. A hand shot up from his side, and within it flames suddenly erupted, growing until they licked several feet from within his grasp. Slowly, they twisted and molded until something solid formed. A gleaming blade with a golden hilt. Opening his eyes, he turned his head to regard the woman who had spoken, his features immediately softening to her feminine form. Turning to face her fully, he lowered his weapon and cocked his head to the side, stark white tresses slipping over his bare shoulder. "I'm afraid you are mistaken. I am not this...Buddy you seem to think I am, dear lady."The sword vanished as quickly as it had appeared, and he approached her slowly, his bare feet crushing dirt ever so lightly beneath him. The breeze tugged at the simple linens hanging at his waist, sending the unruly mane fluttering around his face as he inspected her. "Why ever does such a lovely creature have need of a deadly weapon? Are you unsafe?"

Camille went from apathetic to aware as the flaming sword came and went, causing her to shift her stance into a more defensive position. She narrowed her eyes at his approach, black strands with purple highlights falling just above those red-hot eyes. The lance was readied, though the point still faced the earth below. "You know most guys buy me a drink before flirting with me. I suggest you cool your jets, lover-boy...unless you'd enjoy pissing out of a second hole." A callous grin etched across her oddly pristine visage as she began to step to the side of him.
She continued conversing, though still kept to that defensive demeanor. "As for being unsafe. Nah. I'm plenty safe. Though half-naked men falling from the sky would make me think otherwise. What about you? Who are you and what's your business in Eratyne?"

Lychinus Vesi Outskirts Lychinus watched her with an admiring gaze, though his brows knit languidly together as she threatened him. Taking a small step back, her crossed his arms, his head tilting to keep sight of her as she stepped to his side. "I do not flirt, dear lady. I have no use for such things. Nor do I..." He stopped then, peering downward with an ever heightening brow. "...piss, as you so eloquently put it." A sigh left him then, and his arms fell back to his sides as he turned to again gaze up upon the sky. "I am glad to hear that you are safe, dear lady. You'll come to no harm around me, I can assure you of that much." An anguished look crossed his features then, his gaze narrowing toward the heavens. "I am Lychinus...and, I truly wish I knew how to answer you. My business here...is not something I know."

The woman frowned with a slight hint of disappointment as the man seemed to not show any signs of being threatening, flipping her lance over her head and attaching it to it's harness. "Well you're no fun." She grinned wickedly and dropped the defensive act, sauntering up to his form with a sort of confidence that bordered on obnoxious. She looked up towards the skyscraper of a man as she spoke, leaning forward just enough to show a small peak of her assets. "So, Lychinus...the man who knows nothing but acts as though he should. Let me begin educating you. My name is Camille, but you can call me Cami...it's just easier." She prodded his bare chest with her finger, a bit surprised at the wall of muscle that met her. Clearing her throat, she took a few steps back and folded her arms under her chest. "So...you fall from the sky. Have no idea what your purpose is. Nearly give me a damn heart attack. Wonderful. This day is going -so- well." She waved dismissively and began turning to walk away from Lychinus.

Lychinus Vesi Outskirts The golden gaze turned down from the heavens as the lance that had been held so defensively thus far was tucked away and forgotten. As the woman sauntered up with a wicked grin on her face, his features again softened, though his eyes sought the features she so willingly displayed a peek of. "It is lovely to meet you Camille." The sudden prodding against his chest was meant with a surprised grunt, and as she stepped away, that anguish in his expression only grew. "Wait, please!"Surging after her, his wings flared at his back, and he reached for the hand that had poked at him so readily. "Camille, I am sorry that I do not have all the answers. My father cast me from his house, and as I fell, everything changed. I fell from my heavens and landed on this soil. This...this is not my world." Gingerly, he would try to take that hand and grasp it firmly. "I did not come here seeking to cause you discomfort, and I can sense that I have. How can I make this up to you?"

The woman grimaced as she felt the man's familiar form surge behind her and reach to grasp at her hand. She turned to look up at him with a steely, annoyed gaze...eyes flaring wildly as every single word was uttered. Though after a moment her features softened and she let out a soft sigh. "So you're...what...an angelic being? A heavenly body? Figures I'd run into one of you bastards after all this time." The woman burst into a chuckle for a few seconds before completing cutting into a serious expression. She just kind of stared as the man grasped her hand firmly, red eyes trailing upward to meet those golden orbs. There was a slight familiarity to the touch, a comfort that she hadn't experienced in years. This thought caused the first warm smile to appear on her face before she spoke. "Hmm...well. You can buy me a drink. Unless you heavenly beings don't carry around money...in which case I've got nothing."

Lychinus Vesi Outskirts Lychinus stood still and unwavering under the steely gaze he was met with, though this woman did seem to have a way with making him furrow his brow. The annoyance rolling off of her was all too apparent, and as she spoke, his lips parted in shock. "I...am an angel, yes. But, I'd ask that you not call me fatherless, Camille. I am..." He stopped then, suddenly. Deep thought stole him for a moment before finally he shook his head and grinned down at her. Bending, he moved to press his lips to the mercenary's hand before promptly raising again to his full towering height over her. "That's how you greet a lady, is it not? A drink. I will gladly buy you a drink. What is the currency in this realm? I will procure it." Releasing the hand he'd held so firmly, he began to look around, as if he expected coin to simply fall from the sky as he had.

Camille watched Lychinus in a stunned silence as he bent over to kiss her hand with such manners, her cheeks flushing a deep red. "Uhh..." She replied to his question, shaking herself out of what felt like a trance. "Oh. Gold coins. They're pretty easy to "procure" as you say. I'm sure you can find some old sap in town who could use a big strapping lad such as yourself." She went to punch him lightly in his arm as a playful gesture, once again being met with what felt like a wall of solid flesh. They grow 'em good in heaven apparently.
The woman took the lead and pointed towards the nearby settlement. "That's Vesi. A fisherman's village so to speak...you'll find everything you'd ever need in that place. Though I could do without the smell." She laughed as she continued moving towards their destination, looking back every now and then to sneak a peak at the fallen angel. "So, Lychinus. There's a question I've always wondered about you angels. So I have to ask. Are all of you...you know..." She pointed between his legs and grinned wickedly. "You guys packing or flying bare...front?"
